Media Products can never show us reality. What we see is always a version of reality. In the music industry, the purpose of the video is to promote the song, create an image for the artist and ultimately sell the song. The record label will control the artist and how that artist is represented.

Although most of the lyrics are conversations with different people around the city sometimes the voices are in time with the rhythm of the song.

The instruments used in this song are modern and almost all created using the computers, the link from this to New York is that it is one of the biggest and most modern cities in the world. So technology is very advanced


Camera shots, movement and position:
A lot of the camera shots are focused on someone walking in the streets on New York but sometimes change angle when entering at building or passing a famous landmark.

Out of the many pop videos this particular one does not have any sexual themes in it at all, this video is calm and relaxed throughout until the end. There also isn't any sexual or offensive lyrics in the video at all
Is the video performance based, narrative-based or concept-based? How much of each?
This video has nothing performance based at all, there is narrative based lyrics in the video as some words fit perfectly with the speed and tune of the song. The concept is different as the listener can make up his own story as there isn’t much of one originally.
